Lauren has been working with adolescents and adults for nearly 10 years to help them access their strengths, overcome challenges, heal from trauma and crisis, and find meaning and joy.
Lauren specializes in helping clients manage and recover from trauma, anxiety, panic disorder, depression and addictions. She is an experienced specialist in EMDR [link to description on your website] and uses other therapy approaches as well, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. As a dual-licensed clinician, Lauren also has specific training in treating addictions. She is interested in how physical health and mental health affect each other, and works with clients to identify steps they can take to care for their bodies as well as their minds.
Lauren’s passion is to help clients gain meaning from their experiences and find helpful ways to view and manage them: we all have weeds in our garden, but through changing the way we see and experience them, we can change them into wildflowers.
Lauren honors the courage it takes to choose therapy and commit to healing. Because she understands how important it is to find the right therapist, she works to understand the needs of new clients and ensure a good fit.
When she is not working with clients, Lauren enjoys cooking, singing, jazz music, and swing and Latin dancing. She also loves to travel and learn about other places around the world, and has been to about a dozen countries. She is currently working on learning to speak Spanish. Her dog is a constant companion and can often be found alongside Lauren during her many adventures.
Lauren has her own counseling practice and contracts with City Park Counseling Center to provide services.
